As the thermometer rises the price and demand for energy goes up also. In response to weather predictions, the City of Portland is reminding customers to consider voluntarily reducing energy use during peak summertime hours (Monday-Friday from 2-7 p.m.)
The easiest way to lower energy demand, is to reduce usage of air conditioners and major appliances (clothes washer, clothes dryer, dishwasher, hot water heater, oven).
Attached are summer energy saving tips from the American Public Power Association.
Thank you for considering a voluntary reduction in energy use during peak hours.
