The City of Portland has been partnering with Portland Public Schools and St. Patrick Catholic School on a Safe Routes to School Program in the City of Portland. The goal of the partnership is to promote the safety of children walking to and from school.
The Safe Routes to School program funds 100% of the construction costs for the project, so there will be no cost to individual property owners for the improvements. Project details can be found on the City of Portland’s website at: https://www.portland-michigan.org/338/Upcoming-Ongoing-Projects#liveEditTab_widgets
A Public Workshop will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 259 Kent St., Portland, MI 48875.
The project designers will have draft plans available for review of the planned improvements.
Individuals with disabilities requiring aids or services can pick up a Request for Accommodations form at City Hall, or call the City Clerk to have a form mailed to you.
